OVERVIEW
Acenes is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business that provides a broad range of program management, IT, helpdesk, technical support, business process management, and food safety solutions to Federal government and commercial organizations. Originally founded in 2003, Acenes is headquartered in Tysons Corner, Virginia.

The capabilities of the company are supported by the strength of the corporate management and board members, and the close partnerships Acenes has formed with other organizations in key areas of program expertise.

Officers, Members of the Board of Directors, and Principal Consultants

Samuel "Sam" Logan, CEO and Chairman, Board of Directors. As Acenes' CEO, Sam is responsible for managing the company's strategic business development activities. Sam has provided consultation services for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Information & Technology, since 2006 and was the "go to" person for activation of the OI&T Internal Monthly Performance Review (the core management meeting of the organization). He gained his extensive computer and telecommunications expertise in the US Air Force, including service as the Squadron Commander for an Electronics-Installation unit near Tokyo, Japan. Sams other assignments involved modernization projects for the Defense Information Systems Agency in Europe and policy development for The Joint Staff (Pentagon). Later, he was responsible for implementing the technology needs of a $20 Billion financial company and was instrumental in introducing multiple new capabilities for the organization. He received a BS degreein Chemistry from St. Josephs University in Philadelphia, PA and an MS degree in Systems Technology (C3) from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA. He has been a Project Management Professional since 2001. Sam is a Veteran with a service-connected disability.

Thomas "Tim" Davidson (Col., USAF, ret.), Member, Board of Directors, and Principal Consultant. Tim Davidson has more than 30 years of experience in security management and crisis response for government and non-government organizations. Tim began his career in the U.S. Air Force, holding senior special operations positions before retiring. He also has experience in leading integrated government/ corporate process teams, program development and asset vulnerability analyses. He has a BS degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy, a MA degree from Florida State University, and a fellowship from M.I.T. in Foreign Policy. Tim is a Veteran with a service-connected disability.

David Slifer, Member, Board of Directors, and Principal Consultant. Dave has 20+ years of experience in the IT and support services industry experience. In addition to serving on the Board for Acenes Corporation, he is currently the Vice President of Operations for Seneca Corporation. Daves expertise include ITIL, Service Level Agreements, tailoring technology solutions to meet business and operational requirements, project management, business process automation, and technology integration and implementation. Other professional experience and qualifications: executive, consultant, and operations positions for Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. and Utopia Technology Partners. He also served in the U.S. Navy as a public health technician, specializing in food safety audits and preventive medicine. Dave received his BS from the University of Maryland. He received additional training from the U.S. Navy Preventive Medicine Technician School, and was involved in designing and implementing IT systems within the Bethesda Naval Hospital. He has been a frequent speaker at industry events including PC Expo, the Support Services Expo and the Executive Summit for IT Support and Service.

Smith Wood, Principal Consultant. Smith directs the company's strategic planning and business process management consulting practice. He has directed the implementation of business process management systems in many organizations with widely distributed operations. Smith also is an officer in Seneca Corporation and directs Seneca's consulting and program support services in Veterans Affairs. His previous experience includes: CEO of Barrister Microsystems, Inc., a developer of financial and business process management systems for over 400 service organizations nationwide, and Research Director/Principal at Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc., where he directed technical and strategic planning studies for federal departments, state governments and commercial companies. Smith received BS and MS degrees from M.I.T. and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is an Adjunct Professor in Georgetown University's MBA program and oversees the preparation of business planning research reports by graduate students.

Eleanor "Ell" Sullivan-Friday, Principal Consultant. Ell has extensive experience with major technology projects for the Department of Veterans Affairs. She has held positions of responsibility in both the Office of Information & Technology and the Veterans Benefits Administration, completing her career as a senior leader in the Office of Cyber Security. Ell is an expert in FISMA and FISCAM report development, Capital Planning (Exhibit 300s), and many other aspects of oversight and review for VAs massive Information Technology portfolio ($3+ billion). Her insightscontinue to be inhigh demand and she represented VA in numerous GSA, GAO and OMB engagements. Internal to VA, Ell participated on the Capital Investment Panel and the Capital Investment Board while supporting the Enterprise Information Board and the Strategic Management Council in their governance roles. She was selected for and attended training at the Kellogg and Federal Executive Institutes and has been a Project Management Professional since 2004.

Don Grim, Principal Consultant. Don has more than 35 years of experience in quality assurance/food safety and risk management for the food and beverage manufacturing and lodging/hospitality industries. His previous experience includes Vice President, Quality Assurance & Food Safety for Marriott International (over 8,000 locations) and for Avendra, a multi-billion dollar procurement services company. He has also held senior executive positions with Delmonte Frozen Foods and Hanover brands. Don has degrees from Moravian College and East Stroudsburg University. He has also been active with the Society for Microbiology, the American Public Health Association, the Institute for Food Technologists, and the National Environmental Health Association.
